Ultimate Guide to a Perfect Skincare Routine

If your skin is needing some TLC I have the ultimate guide for your perfect skincare routine. It is so easy to get stuck in a rut with using the same products you have used for years. Life gets so busy and you don't necessarily have time to think about your skin and what could improve it.

If you struggle with your skin you are more likely to think about it and be looking for options. If that is the case take a look at my post for the Ultimate Guide to Perfect Skin where you'll find lots of hints and tips to get your skin back on track.

For now I want to tell you about this Skincare routine I have come across through working with the Body Shop at Home.  The name of the range The Body Shop Drops of Youth instantly attracted me to these skincare products and I'm so pleased it did.

Drops of youth skincare range

This range is powered by Plant Stem Cells, a beautiful natural range that works with your skin to stimulate new skin cells, it protects your skin from damaging free radicals, hydrates, perfects and increases the production of collagen and elastin, making it perfect for most people.

So once or twice a week I would recommend that you use the Drops of Youth Liquid Peel to remove the dead skin cells so that your next products that you use to hydrate and renew your skin can really get down to the deepest layer.

Each day and evening I like to start with The Body Shop Drops of Youth Essence which draws the next product that you put on your skin, ie your serum / concentrate down to the deepest layer of your skin possible. This also seems to make my Drops of Youth Concentrate glide over my skin and allows me to use the tiniest bit as the Essence seems to help the product go so much further.

I then, as I say use The Body Shop Drops of Youth Concentrate, just a tiny amount and then follow this with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream, which literally feels like a pure drink for my skin.

Below I have noted for you the stem cells that power up this stunning skincare range and what each stem cell will be doing for your skin

Eidelweiss

Eidelweiss is super rich in antioxidants which fights off damaging free radicals. This is so important for anti aging. You are protecting your skin and slowing down the aging process by ensuring you use a product rich in antioxidants

Criste Marine

Criste Marine stem cells have renewing properties, helping speed up skin cell renewal. You may have heard many people talk about products that speed up skin cell renewal and wonder why we need it to be so speedy.

The reason you want speedy skin cell renewal is that it encourages new skin cells to be made, lovely fresh new skin cells which are in beautiful condition. You then want these new skin cells at the base of your epidermis to to reach the top surface in the best possible condition, so the quicker that the skin is renewed then the quicker the beautiful new skin cells reach the visible surface of your skin and the quicker they get to the surface the better condition they are going to be in when they get there.

If you imagine your epidermis has three layers.

The bottom layer are juicy grapes

The middle layer are wrinkly raisin

The top layer are cornflakes

You want to exfoliate off the cornflakes, (your dead skin cells) so that your skin care can get down to hydrate those wrinkly raisins and most importantly hydrate those grapes so that the raisins become more like grapes as the skin renews itself.

Another fantastic reason to encourage the speed of skin cell renewal is that it will in turn encourage collagen and elastin production giving your skin that youthful bounce.

Sea Holly

Sea Holly is known to increase the production of collagen and elastin.

This skincare regime is incredibly hydrating. This is so important - imagine a wrinkled t shirt plunged into water. The wrinkles are immediately smoothed and plumped. Think of your skin smoothed and plumped with hydration.
So really what more could you ask for from a skin care regime, this one really has it all. Check out my video demonstrating the range and talking about how each product will help your skin and how to use each item and in what order to use on your skin.

Much love
